O nome da banda vem de um personagem do romance e filme A História Sem Fim. A banda fazia parte do selo independente Victory Records, porém assinou contrato com a Hollywood Records e com a Roadrunner em 2007.

Burden of a Day foi uma banda de post-hardcore cristã de Sarasota, Flórida, formada em janeiro de 2000. Eles foram formalmente assinado com a Rise Records antes de sua dissolução. Algumas de suas influências incluem os gostos de Thrice, The Bled, All That Remains.
